A Painting of the sea by Carolyn Tyrer

From raging storms crashing on to bleak rocky headlands to tranquil bays with crystal clear water lapping over white sand, the beauty and mystery of our oceans have long fascinated artists far and wide.

Artist Carolyn Tyrer standing by the sea and infront of her easel smiling and painting a picture Carolyn Tyrer, a keen artist and sailor, is no exception. Carolyn says “My inspiration for painting the sea and boats comes from my love of sailing. The water and boat ownership had been at the heart of this escape route.”

She sailed a Mystere Catamaran, a Conquest 23 and then a UFO 31. These boats helped to harness her love for the water and enabled her to explore some of the beautiful estuaries and beyond.

It was at this point that Carolyn contacted us as she wanted assistance and some instruction with the delivery of her new yacht from Dartmouth to Beaulieu. “We required some help and expertise from Halcyon Yachts. They provided an excellent and professional delivery crew to assist with passages from Devon to Beaulieu and then onto Woodbridge where ‘Gem’ is now moored on the glorious Deben river at Tide Mill Marina.”

I can’t wait to explore and sail to some new parts of the world!”
